Could someone confirm for me that no one has been able to use eGPU successfully in bootcamp in 1903 Build 18362.356?

That’s correct, I couldn’t get egpu to work consistently in bootcamp, it magically worked once after lots of trying but rolling back works consistently every time.

My educated guess is the dGPU R9 M370X. This could make a difference.

I could use OS Build 18263.356 with my 2016 15" MacBook Pro after disabling the dGPU. It involves automate-eGPU EFI and dsdt override. This version is not working for most Macs and some Windows laptops with an AMD eGPU. Nvidia eGPUs don't seem to be effected.

My Gaming Box RTX2070 was affected by .356....

I'm gonna stick with .295, at least that works.

Then this is probably the end of plug and play bootcamp solutions... still hope Microsoft acknowledges this issue - but this is such a niche use case in the overall Microsoft grand scheme of things. I wonder if it has to do with something that can be fixed by AMD too...

Current build: 2017 15" MacBook Pro + Mantiz Venus MZ-02 + Silverstone SX700-LPT (750W Peak) + Noctua NF-A14 + Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8G (rev. 1.0)
Replaced parts: Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Nitro+; Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 (Reference model)

Can confirm, same problem here, except my System Restore had created the restore point so I could roll back without problems.

Looking at KB 4512941:

"Improves the user experience and app compatibility so that more Win32 apps will work with Windows Mixed Reality."

I think this is probably to do with MS HoloLens support. I've seen a lot of HL updates come past recently, and I would guess they're really pushing updates for that tech because of the new release this month. I would guess something in there went a bit too far.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much. There are plenty of corporate build situations where you want to use an eGPU - indeed, HoloLens and eGPU's together make a lot of sense for things like presentations. That said, they of course happily bed with their preferred partners for testing and such. Wanna bet that's nvidia rather than AMD?

eGPU KO'ed on Windows Build 1903 18362.387 as well.  Maybe MS is trying to weed out all the eGPU setups on bootcamp

@itsage

Anyway you can suggest to resolve this error message? Have tried reinstalls.
