@mobplay-games

Thank you very much. I'm kind of stuck.

Mac: 2016 15" MacBook Pro i7 2.6 GHZ Quad

Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphic 530/Radeon 450

eGPU: BlackMagic Design with AMD 580

Windows Version 1903

Graphics Driver: I followed your process using Bootcampdriver April edition. I tried both without success.

I got to checkpoint #3. I can see the AMD 580 but when I turn it off it doesn't want to log back in and when it finally does, the 580 is gone.

I also have the eGPU plugged into the left top side.

My MacBook Pro 15''(2017) + RX 5700XT (AKiTiO Node Pro) worked without any issue after I updated my windows from 1903 to the latest build (I forgot the build number, but it should be greater than 19041 cuz I can use WSL 2) via "Update Assistant".

Seems this issue is already resolved? I found a 2004 issue about thunderbolt fixed recently, don't know whether it is related to this one.

I'm on a Dell XPS 7390. It had Windows 1909 in it and I was able to run my Razer Core X (AMD RX 5700 XT) with the pci.sys replacement fix.

Last week, I needed to update to Windows 2004 for other reasons and I was fairly confident that the same pci.sys fix would solve the problem however that did not happen. After replacing the pci.sys not only my AMD card is not recognised anymore, my wi-fi and audio card are gone too. So I had to roll back to the original pci.sys and now I'm stuck with code 12.

Is there any other way to get rid of error code 12 on the latest Windows (2004)?

@burninglutz Hmm, are you sure it really worked? You must be the first one to post that 2004 works without any issues haha. But like you said, they did write that they fixed something related to thunderbolt docks, and you did write this only a couple days ago.

Would be cool if some more users could confirm that this 2004 update fixed 1 year of windows issues.

2004 version works fine for my windows laptop + RTX2070 gaming box combo.

I don't even have to hotplug anymore.

@test1, Yes, it worked smooth and stable, these two days I played minecraft with shaders in 4k at about 60fps for a few hours and it never crashes.

Details I didn't mention in the last post:

build number: 19041.421

graphics driver: 20.4.1 from bootcampdrivers.com

I boot my MacBook Pro with the tb3 cable plugged into the right-top port.

I just upgraded windows, even without re-installing graphics driver, and it worked.😄

@burninglutz, Is it the insider windows build you are using or have you used the .sys fix to get it working?

@test1, I didn't replace the pci.sys file, and I don't know whether is it the insider windows build.

I just downloaded a standalone app called Update Assistant, and updated to 2004 with it.

There was an interesting thing that I could not simply update to 2004 via in-system update cuz when I clicked the "check for updates", it always gave "You're up to date".
