I would stress that getting an eGPU should not be considered a Plug and Play solution when using a Mac with Bootcamp.

It is a pity that it is not, but it is just not there yet.

I am curious to see what will occur with Bootcamp once apple move to 'Apple Silicon'. I have heard that Bootcamp will not be possible. I just hope that the ARM Version of Windows is compatible. If it is not, then our current MacBooks may become sort after models.

Do you know which is the right page of the thread dec and the guide is posted? Thanks again

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@andrea_bassanello, I can be really exhausting when trying to find the right way forward. Especially when you have dropped a heap of $$ on a new setup that you had high hopes for.

I would suggest (if you want to get it up and running).

1. Reinstall Mac OS and start with a fresh Mac system

2. Install Bootcamp on the internal HDD. If you only have limited space, just create a small partition, just to see if it works)

I have only briefly ever considered using Windows on an external, not sure if that might be causing issues.

Sorry to hear that, but don't give up!

I've had EGPU problems too...even a month long with an Aorus Gaming Box RTX 2070 which I had shipped all the way from Europe to Asia.

Eventuallyz it turned out that aside from the Win 10 egpu issue, my new HP X360 ultrabook had a hardware problem.

But ever since the HP repair and the PCI sys trick it' s been smooth sailing. I don' t even have to hotplug anymore since Win build 2004.

I was just quickly browsing through this thread and was wondering if Windows Build 18362.295 is still the most stable for using an eGPU on a 2019 13" 4TB3 MBP on bootcamp or if there was a more stable version. I couldn't seem to find anything to affirm whether or not that's the case (obviously not including the title of the thread) so I apologize in advance if it's already been mentioned.

EDIT: So I've done a bit of testing with the newer Windows 10 versions with my eGPU and can confirm that for me I am unable to at all use my eGPU on Windows in Version 2004. However, I did switch to the Dev Channel and installed Build 20211.1000 and am now much more consistently able to use my graphics card in Windows (for now at least...). Currently I am able to successfully get my card to work if I boot into Windows with the card connected and running the boot64 script. Then my eGPU will show in Device Manager without Error 12.

Dear all,

Just some feedback.

I run a new MacBook Pro 13" (without dGPU) with a eGPU Razer Core X (AMD Vega 64).

My setup is working quite well and I can play Fifa 20 or Batman Arkham Knight in quite high res graphics.

Today, I installed "September 8, 2020—KB4571756 (OS Build 19041.508)" and my setup failed to work (Error 12). Even cold/hot plugin does not work.

I tried replacing "pci.sys" which worked in previous versions - but this time the system failed to boot up with a blue screen.

So I conducted a "System restore" (lucky if you have one!) and it is running fine.

Conclusion: The Update "September 8, 2020—KB4571756 (OS Build 19041.508)" breaks the eGPU setup for me. I stopped automatic updates.

I am interested in your feedback.

Arrrrg. This is bad news about Windows Build 19041.508 for AMD Vega series card owners.

Microsoft confirmed 19041.508 is the final build of their 20H2 update (to be known as Windows version 2009).

On the sunny side of the Windows + Bootcamp street, there's a report of a Nvidia card setup working on 19041.508 with minimal trouble:
