I am pretty new to the eGPU scene. But I have don my research, I know a fair bit. I have just recently gotten an AMD rx vega 56 (Flashed with Vega64 bios) along with my akitio node pro. My initial thought was it’s going to be a few lines in the command center on MacOS (I was running Mojave, I just downgraded to Sierra 10.12.6) After 15 hours of work, I still could not get my eGPU to work in bootcamp for windows 10. Please help!

You will need to share more info on what you’ve actually done to try and make it work and what errors you are getting.

Also, macOS version will not effect Bootcamp implementation as far as I know.

Have you looked up similar builds in the builds section?

I have tried paritioning an EFI paritition and copy apple_set_os.efi to it. Wouldn’t work at all. I have tried installing rEFInd, still no results. I have tried several hot plug and cold plug strategies in vain. Still no hope. I have tried to disable SIP and do the old school method, still no hope. The closest I got was to have my Macbook showed 3 display adapters in window. When I ran windows support to update the drivers, as soon as it detects a radeon rx vega, my internal display went black. I have just upgraded to Mojave again. I found a guide for Mojave (Fingers crossed) but please. I spent 500 bucks for this setup...soo..I am 100% ears up for any suggestions and help I can get. Thank you!!!

Mojave isn't going to change the way Windows works...

It could affect the Boot-Loader though, but I am not sure about this.

@an_khanh_lu iMore's guide of using apple_set_os.efi is not going to work on the 2016 15" MacBook Pro + AMD eGPU. They wrote that article using the resources and knowledge through our forum but did not give credit. You have two options, the first one is an older Boot Camp setup guide that went over every step of the way. A newer approach is to use @goalque's automate-eGPU EFI and a pre-compiled DSDT file for your particular MacBook Pro.

Can I have the exception of not using an external thum drive? Can I create a partition instead? And thank you for the help too...I am slowly but surely getting there.

Yes. Use Disk Utility and create a small (32MB) FAT partition then copy automate-eGPU EFI + pre-compiled DSDT.aml onto it. Hold OPTION at boot and you will have a third boot volume.

I finally got my set up to work, but after an accidental reboot to macOS, I am now stuck on the windows boot screen. How can I fix this? Do I have to reinstall windows and start over?

I have done all the steps. But somehow, whenever I disable the PCIe 1905 lane, my display went black. Is there a fix to this?
