I’ve followed the guide to implement the CLOVER method. Everything was working accordingly (Vega was being used as primary GPU). I decided to install the standard Apple drivers again for my Radeon Pro 460, in case I’m using my Windows without the eGPU. After installing, the Vega stopped working and gave me errorcode 43. I realize I can simply uninstall the drivers, but I would like to have these installed in case previously told.

Does anyone know the solution to this?

The error 43 is because Windows requires a unified AMD driver to accelerate the AMD dGPU and eGPU. Consider testing these drivers to see if they help:

Also I am trying to install Crimson ReLive to use the Vega. I tried booting a game and it was using the dGPU instead of the Vega. But the AMD software does not recognize the Vega as AMD hardware and since I don’t have the driverse installed for the Radeon Pro, it does not recognize that either.

What a hassle 🙁

The bootcampdrivers are good. But they are meant for the Apple’s built-in custom GPU, not the retail. For eGPU with retail board, the AMD driver is probably better for it. I run the Vega FE LC with my 2017 iMac using the Adrenaline driver from AMD.

The installer complains about not finding your hardware. But all you have to do is to add the line EnableFalcon=true to Config\InstallManager.cfg, and rerun it.

@jyin for real? so is it possible to have my 2017 MBP with RP560 and my VEGA FE working with the same drivers? I always had to disable the built in card/lane in order to driver installer recognize the VEGA FE, Did you use the Radeon Pro Adrenalin or the regular Adrenalin drivers?

@juan_c_yunis, Not quite. All I am saying is you can get the retail driver installed, for the retail card. The OEM card is whole another can of worms.

I was never able to get both my Vega FE LC and RP580, due to Error 12. I didn’t really try hard either tho. I don’t care about RP580 when I got Vega.

My method that got both my Radeon Pro 460 and Radeon RX 580 working together was, assuming you wipe everything with DDU first:

1) Install latest dGPU drivers from bootcampdrivers.com fully.

2) Download the same driver version from AMD directly, for use with your eGPU.

3) Extract the driver. The installer won’t detect your eGPU, but that’s okay.

4) In Device Manager, right click your eGPU (probably installed with a basic Microsoft driver) and update the driver.

5) Manually point Windows to where the driver got extracted in step 3.

Windows will then install the driver and it’ll show up correctly in AMD’s control panel, too.

@jyin so with this “EnableFalcon=true to Config\InstallManager.cfg” you are able to install the gaming driving with all features?

Not sure what you mean by ‘all’ features.

But I got my Vega driving 3x 4K monitors, FreeSync, Eyefinity with Bezel compensation. When I game, I do dial down to 3K (HDx3) and get very smooth play. Playing Dirt Rally  and No Man’s Sky is a beautiful thing.

@detunedradios thanks for that, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me, because the VEGA FE is a Radeon Pro software so when i tried what you suggested it does’t work properly.

I am not much of over-clocker. But when I do, I don’t touch that buggy mess AMD call watt-man.

I keep meaning to try this tool.
