Hi everyone,

I have bought an Nvidia RTX 3090 card a few weeks ago (the ASUS GeForce TUF RTX 3090 O24G GAMING model) with a Mantiz Saturn Pro II. My laptop is a Razer Blade 15 from 2019 with an RTX 2070 MaxQ graphic card running Windows 10.

Since the beginning, the performance of my eGpu setup are noticeably bad, since the RTX 2070 is always far better with all the games I have tried (Watch Dogs Legion, Control, Death Stranding, Hades...). To summarize, when the RTX 2070 reaches 60fps, the eGPU / RTX3090 tops at 30fps and is never stable.

Yesterday, I have tried a different setup with a 15 inches Macbook Pro + BootCamp setup and the results are basically the same. Initially I thought it was coming from my PC, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

With the same game configuration in Watch Dogs Legion (1080p, 60fps lock, Ultra...), I have benchmarked several solutions yesterday:

- Razer Blade 15 with the internal display :

FPS min : 27.72
FPS average : 59.54
FPS max : 100.27

- Razer Blade 15 on an external 1080p display :

FPS min : 36.46
FPS average : 59.90
FPS max : 108.34

- Razer Blade 15 with the RTX 3090 / eGPU on the same external 1080p display :

FPS min : 12.20
FPS average : 36.15
FPS max : 108.11

It confirms my observations, but I don't understand why the RTX 3090 is so slow, since it should have better results.
Do you have any idea on what could cause the problem? (there are no warnings in Windows, nor Nvidia software)

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
