Hello Fellow Members,
I am a new member here and have watched videos that were too complex for my understanding on Youtube. I use a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) with the 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5.
I have recently bought an Akitio Node Pro and Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition Graphics card and wanted to use this set up for basic gaming. And since we all know how great MacOS is for gaming, I plan on using Bootcamp for Windows. I noticed people having issues with their GFX being recognized on to their computer. Also, just as an additional piece of information, I will be using an external monitor for gaming. Now my questions being:
1. For an external monitor, will it just be plug and play or will I have to do something in oder to get it to work the first time?
2. Just out of curiosity, is the set up different for gaming on internal and external monitor? And if so, will my set up work with the internal monitor as well?
3. Can I plug in my eGPU after the computer has started or does it always have to be shut down first for me to be able to connect it and then start it back again?
(And sorry if my questions sound like a newbie but I am new to figuring these things out)
Why dont you give it a try?
(for your set up plugin the eGPU when the Windows dots appear and that should be all you need to do once drivers are installed).
