Problems with Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme

Hey Guys.

Ive got problems with my setup and could need help.

My setup:

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 1 (i7-8850h, 16GB ram (single), full HD Display, Thunderbolt 3)
Razer Core X Chroma with Nvidia 2060 Super

So I had a laptop with the i7-67700hq before and built an egpu setup with the GDC Beast. For playing RDR2 this worked quite well. Now this is unfortunately not possible with the new setup. With graphics set to ultra(which I had before with my old laptop) I get to a maximum of 30fps. I have already undervolted the processor so that I get more performance, but the Task Manager shows me that the CPU is almost always on full load while playing. I have also read in another topic that the thunderbolt connection works with the PCH chip and that it gets hot. This is why i put a thermal pad on the pch chip.

Now i have the following ideas which problem could lead to the low fps in RDR2:

1. The processor is too weak. Although I am confused why it worked better with my old laptop and not with the new one with a stronger processor. In addition, the processor actually fulfills the system requirements issued by RDR2.

2. The PCH chip is getting too warm. Although I am surprised that the GPU load is actually quite low and that it interacts with the Thunderbolt connection, so that I could explain an influence on the GPU here (which is not really on load according to the task manager) but not on the CPU.

3. The game or other software is the problem.

I would be happy if someone could help me or at least give a few tips on what can still be tested.

Thank you very much in advance
