Hey guys,

I just got my new setup: MBP 2017 with 1080ti FTW3 thru a Mantiz Venus. I've been playing Overwatch and Battlefield 1 with all settings at max (2k reso) and all is great. I've been reading about using a software like ThrottleStop to undervolt the CPU and increase the gaming performance, but I didn't find any content of it on Macbook Pro. Is it worth doing? Does anyone have a quick guide on how to do it for Macs? I downloaded the software but I'm kind of afraid of messing around haha.

Thanks,

Hey. I recently discovered Throttlestop and it is completely safe. Worst thing is the computer will crash and then reboot to default voltage settings. There are a number of guides to assist. Essentially, just move the voltage back by .10 until you crash. Then maybe go .20 up. Run a CPU benchmark after each voltage decrease.

Test with a CPU benchmark tool. Don’t use Intel XTU and Throttlestop at the same time. For a i7 CPU is would start at - .90 and work from there.

My biggest issue with the my EGPU set up was CPU overheating. Undervolting should of resolves the issue.

Please se let me know how it turns out and good luck.
