Thunderbolt devices enabled before windows login, possible?
I'm having an issue and i wonder if anyone know how to fix it. I want to have my eGPU and USB-devices enabled before i login to Windows. I've enabled Thunderbolt pre-boot modules which enabled me to see POST-messages on my external monitor, and to use my keyboard before Windows boot, however, as soon as Windows have loaded and i enter the login screen all my USB-devices connected to the Razer Core X Chroma and eGPU disconnect. As soon as I've logged in to my user in Windows everything reconnect.
Which setting can i touch to prevent devices from disconnecting?
@simon_wikstrand, Do you see Thunderbolt Security settings in the BIOS? Changing to "SL0, No Security" should allow Thunderbolt devices to work at preboot and throughout the booting process.
@itsage, Yes, I've seen this setting and it's set to No Security which makes me able to use external monitor and I/O devices until Windows loads, then they disconnect until I've logged in. I suspect Windows has some setting as well somewhere.
After several research sessions I eventually found this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/information-protection/kernel-dma-protection-for-thunderbolt
I went into BIOS and disabled Intel Virtualization Technology for I/O devices and now my Razer Core X Chroma works pre-login in windows. (This triggered a BitLocker key check).
