Will nVidia eGPU and dGPU fight with each other?

I have a Razer Core X with GTX 1080, running mostly fine with a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 7 with just onboard Intel iGPU. Boring.

But, I might be switching to a bigger laptop, and that laptop may come with a discrete GPU onboard. I'm currently considering Lenovo ThinkPad P1 gen 3, which hosts an nVidia Quadro T2000.

Can those two nVidia cards coexists with each other peacefully or would I end up in a driver reinstall + device disabling hell each time I decide to plug or unplug the laptop? They seem to be using different driver bundles from the nVidia webpage.

I've seen another post reporting success with the same laptop, but an AMD card - but with both nVidia dGPU and eGPU, and those GPUs from different product families, I wonder what would happen.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
