XPS 15 (9550) with eGPU does not boot Red Dead Redempetion 2 when connected
Only then i bought Red Dead Redemption 2, and it does not start. When i disconnect the eGPU it does start perfectly on my dGPU (gtx960m), and when i connect by eGPU it even recognizes it in the settings in-game, but when i apply the settings and restart the game, nothing happens. When i look in task manager i see it is running for some time before automatically stopping without any error.
I tried updating all drivers, flashing the GPU to the newest version, disabling the dGPU in device manager and running it only on my external screen. Nothing seems to work.
Do you have any idea how to fix it? I'm really disappointed if this doesn't work, because this is kinda the reason i bought the eGPU in the first place
@mini-i5, I tried and it did not work. This software is to old recognize the videocard. I tried Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.1.3 Recommended (WHQL) and still the same problem. It starts according the the task manager, but nothing happens. After about 1 minute is shuts down automatically.
I guess Nvidia still beat AMD in term of software
Glad the game is launching now.
It turns out Rockstar has had a known issue with the Launcher since the game was released.
The RDR2 launcher issue definitely affects Nvidia cards as well.
Some reports say the game will launch for a period of time, then stop.
Yes i'm known with all the errors of RDR2, however i was not able to find my specific error. The fact is that i simply got no error at all. Furthermore, it tried all the solutions i could find online including the solutions in the pictures. Most post also seem to origin from the period short after the launch, the game is available for at least half a year now and i have found little known errors there days.
Finally, it is good to mention i compared both cards in GTA 5 and the RTX 2060 performed much more consistent.
