If anyone needs help, I can solder any kind of adapter for you. Please keep in mind, that this not my buisness and by that my cables will:

- take time (need to order and solder)

- cost more, since I need to pay the cables/adapters/parts + shipping to me and to you

I already made quite some adapters to power the Thunder2 with a Dell DA-2 and my adapters will look like this:

I could add any custom feature, BUT I will not make angled PCIe power plugs myself anymore. You can get them on the US ebay yourself (happy to help you get one if you want to).

This is not a product that will generate any big amount of income. 95% of the costs will cover my expenses.

Is the barrel the same as the one from the Thunder2? If so, I can help 😉

@soradore can you post your info in this thread instead? - https://egpu.io/forums/psu-cables/pre-made-power-cables-for-akitio-enclosures-dell-da-2-psu/

I'd love to have you as part of our community because there's a real need for these pre-made cables. However, this is Dschijn's thread for his custom cable service.

Thats really good quality cable, I bought the DA-2 to Akitio Thunder 3 and 6-pin and is working great. Just wished you had low profile in the 6-pin end so that could close the enclosure. They way you make it now we still have to mod to make it fit.

These kind of services are really great! If possible I would need cable for Da-2 to Thunder3-barrel + Pcie 8-pin for my Radeon RX470 nitro+

Actually both of them looked so good that I couldn't decide but when I googled a bit I found soradore's 6+2 pcie cable from eBay and ordered it straight away.

Now I just have to wait till all the parts arrive 🙂

Hey @Dschijn,

I'm from germany and I just ordered an Akitio Thunder3 box. I'd need something like this:  http://kareonkables.com/products/dell-da-2-akitio-thunder2-box-62-pin-pci-e-with-25mm-adapter and since I'm really impatient to get my setup started I didn't want to order it from US. Are you still available? How long would it take you to build it and whats the cost?

I ordered the cable you linked and it took a week to receive it (I live in Sweden). Heads up though, you wont be able to close the chassi with it (without modification).

Yeah. My cable probably went through Germany as well. It usually does when I'm ordering from the US.

Hi @Dschijn,

I've been using the standard AC adapter to power my Thunder3, which is probably not ideal. I'd like to find an adapter that will allow it to be powered from a fully modular ATX PSU like the Corsair RM series. Most adapters and converters I've seen have a female end, but I'd prefer a male end to be able to plug directly into the PSU. This is a screenshot of the back of the PSU for reference: 17-139-056-10.jpg. Is that something you would be able to make? I'm located in the US. Thanks!

It appears that I just got MSI GTX 970 gaming 4gb gpu which has 6-pin and 8-pin Pcie sockets. I  already have this cable for powering my RX470 nitro+ and was wondering is it possible to use some pcie y-splitter to power gtx 970 and Akitio Thunder3 or do I need to buy or make a whole new cable?
