[Solved] Dell DA-2 power (plug) modified to fit custom/premade cable - 5.5x2.5mm barrel
Here is the followup pic, using heatshrink to tidy up the harness wires.
and another view showing the 6pin connector I had to modify

This will be my attempt to make what deplomb created.
Took out my exacto knife and did some surgery on the DA-2. There is enough material on the square posts to make them into round (angled) posts.
The result is..... you can now mate the DA-2 plug to the custom harness.
Now I just need to re-wire the pinout on the custom harness and play around with the sense wire (unless it is already wired correctly?)
I need to find the pinout to the DA-2, which I am sure it lives somewhere on this forum.
Sorry for the late answer. I actually did some cutting as well to achieve a smooth fit of the Dell DA-2 Plug into the snap in connector.
To avoid the external barrel plug I soldered the wires for the akitio PCB inside the case to the solder points of the barrel connector.
I recently broke my barrel connector on the Thunder2 and need to directly solder the cable to the board.

I was wondering if you could please post a photo of your completed board. My soldering skills are very basic and seeing a photo would really help me out in this case.
