Just bought TOXIC AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT Extreme Edition.

Thinking to use with 750ex with iMac. Do not mind to go with custom eGpu but problem is PSU.

Can I change the built-in one with Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold ? I need extra 6pin to use for the card.

Any recommendations  will be much appreciate.?

It has a 430W PSU requirement:  https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/toxic-radeon-rx-6900-xt-ee-16g-gddr6

Power is supplied via 2x8P (300W), 1x6P (75W) + 75W slot.

The 750W PSU in the Sonnet Breakaway 750ex is sufficient to power this, supply 100W PD and drive I/O ports.

Hi @nando4

Thanks for the reply. But the card need 2x8pin connector as well as 1x6pin connection.

Please correct me if I am wrong. As far as I looked the 750ex come with only 2x8pin Right ? if this is the case how can I get extra 6pin connector for the card.

@mkzayar, use a PCIe plug y-splitter.

Hi @nando4, Thanks a lot for the tips. Really appreciate it. I hope you do not mind a few more question to ask. This is my first time and have no experience at all.

Just found some on Amazon but only splinter 6pin to 2x8pin or 1x8pin to 2x8pin. Cannot find 1x8pin to 1x8pin+1x6pin.

so are those the cables I should buy to work with the card ?

1) https://www.amazon.co.uk/None-Branded-Motherboard-Graphics-Y-splitter/dp/B08DTVR3S7/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=PCIe+plug+y-splitter&qid=1622651357&sr=8-5

2) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Splitter-Express-Graphics-Connector/dp/B093D99GQL/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=use+a+pcie+plug+y-splitter+8+pin+to+6+pin&qid=1622651284&sr=8-7

Should ask here one more. If I buy 1x8pin to 2x8pin Y cable, where can I see which cable I should remove from one of the 8pin ?

Please kindly share some of your knowledge to me. Thanks.

Use a 8-pin PCIe splitter. It's ends can act as 6P or 8P connector. Like your posted link:

@nando4, Thank you very much for your kind and explanation. Really appreciate it.

I hope the card work with my iMac since apple announce 6900xt is now supported with macOS Big Sur 11.4.

This is very much crazy and I even buy with water cooler despite the shop declined to sell me this combo. Finger cross.

@mkzayar, it's worth spending some more money to get 16AWG thicker wiring. I've had low cost ones outer insulation melt on me and if the 12V+GND leads connect, it can short or even be a spark/fire hazard.

Thanks @nando4, Just about to buy. I will go with 16AWG one as you suggested.

This one said 16AWG ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Splitter-Adapter-Connector-Extender-Graphics-6pin-2x8pin-6-2/dp/B07NW783JX/ )

Really appreciate it.
