Is the 20pin connector of the Mac Mini M1 2020 PSU identical to that of the Mac Mini 2018? To power mac mini from 12V DC battery pack
I would like some clarifications from you experts.
I have a mac mini m1 and would like to power it externally via DC 12V.
I've seen and searched many solutions online but I'm not sure if the 20 pin PSU connector is identical to that of the mac mini 2018.
From @itsage's teardown it is stated that the PSU is the same.
I found this TeraDak module for mac Mini 2018 that practically removing the PSU inside I can add this module that gives me direct access to 12V with DC 5.5 * 2.5 connector output.
below the link: https://www.teradak.com/products/117.html
Since I haven't found certain answers, I wouldn't want to risk burning the motherboard if the 20 pins aren't exactly identical.
Can anyone give me certainty that it works please?
Or if there is another solution always from 20pin PSU to 12V DC that would be great.
*my goal is to use a DC 12V battery pack (max 65W) (portable not very big) to power the mac mini for a few hours with only one LCD monitor on.
The Apple site specifies a consumption of 38W so it should work, at least I think.
Thank you at all
