I have an Aorus Gaming Box 1070 upgraded to a 2070 and I want to use my Macbook charger instead of the PD of the gaming box to avoid straining the PSU too much. For what I read, the MBP will choose whatever port delivers more power which in this case is the gaming box 100W vs the original 97W charger.
Does anybody knows if there is a way to disable TB3 Power Delivey in anyway?

@leandro_glossman, You can try a Thunderbolt 3 cable that has a Power Delivery cap such as this Plugable TB3 cable.

Good idea! I'll try with that.

@leandro_glossman, Even with PD from the Aorus box, the 2070 should work just fine - PSU will be okay as well. 450W is more than ample for this setup.

There isn't a software way to do that? Even on Windows?

@mac_editor, Well after one month of usage the PSU ended up dying as I predicted. What I did was get a modular PC ATX PSU that placed externally with the wires coming in from the back of the egpu through the holes left opened where the old PSU fans were. Not the most elegant solution but it works.
