Hi,

i am looking to build egpu with diy parts based on the adt link r43sg.

And i have a mini pc casing which has a Delta sfx 300 watt psu (DPS-300AB-43 E REV), (max power: 300W)

on the label it says "+12V total power cannot exceed 216W"

So my question is , am I limited to using a graphics card below 216 watt?

The psu also does not have the 6+2 pcie power connector, so i have to route the power through the adt link board.

I want to complete this build under a certain budget, so i dont want to change the psu if i can get away with it.

Thanks and cheers

ash

Yes, 216W is probably the limit. It should be enough for a GPU with an 8 pin power connector (or two 6 pin) - 150W, plus whatever power is required by the PCIe slot (at least 25W).

Mac mini (2018), Mac Pro (Early 2008), GA-Z170X-Gaming 7, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Radeon Pro W5700, Sonnet Echo Express III-D, Trebleet Thunderbolt 3 to NVMe M.2 case

To add to @joevt answer - 216 is definitely the limit. An ATX PSU would have a total wattage, but each lane/connector can have different maximum. Looks like in your case 216 is the max for PCIe, the remaining 84W are divided between CPU, SATA, etc.

I would expect about 75% of that at most, given the "quality" of the brand. So I wouldn't count on any video card with more than 140w power draw.
