Which cable do I need? (Akitio Thunder3 + Dell DA2)

I have a 8 pin Dell DA2 and a Akitio Thunder 3.

I'm planning to use a half length GTX 1060 with it.

My question is which custom cable I need to power my Thunder3 and GTX 1060 with the Dell DA2.

Will this do? Or do I need another cable from the site? (I rather not solder one myself).

The custom pre-built power cable you linked should work.

this one seems better as the output is 6+2, so you can use GTX 1070/1080 with DA-2

with 6 pin output you can only hook up GTX 1060

Current: Thinkpad W540 - i7 4900MQ - 32 GB DDR3L - Quadro K2100M - Akitio Thunder2 - GTX 660 OEM
Retired: Thinkpad W520 - i7 2860QM - 32 GB DDR3L - Quadro 1000M - EXP GDC Beast - GTX 560 Ti - GTX 660 OEM

Hello,

I would like to come in this discussion because I am planning to install a gtx 1060 mini inside an Akitio Node  Lite enclosure, as I understood, identical to the Thunderbolt 3.

I have two questions then:
- Have the Node Lite, Thunderbolt 3, etc enclosures some pins inside the case in order to supply the electronics of the enclosure directly from the GPU supply cable or I am actually obliged to use the external jack ?
- Through the Dell DA-2 "system", can we finally close the enclosure or because of cables it will be an open configuration?

Thank you!

@kiodos, please review the AKiTiO mini-eGPU thread to see examples of matched video cards and low profile PCIe connectors to allow the AKiTiO outer cover to slide over the chassis:

Also please consider the similar priced Zotac Box Mini as an enclosure candidate.  It is taller, comes with a 180W AC adapter and an internal 6P PCIe connector as standard:

Thank you for your reply,

what I didn't find is an high resolution pic of the interior of the Node Lite, so I didn't understand from the forum if a pin connector was installed in the internal board or not.

From you answer I guess no...so for high powered GPU a custom cable that supplies GPU and splits in two by exiting and suppling the whole enclosure though the jack is needed , this cable should be flat (as those of kareonkables) in order to slide the chassis.
Linked question: this customized cable exit from the back of the enclosure, but where ?

Alternative: supply 120W by the jack and install a less powerful GPU as the 1050Ti.

Too bad for the Zotac Box Mini as in a moment of enthusiasm I ordered the Node Lite....
