Zotac AMP BOX Mini power output
I've ordered a "Zotac AMP BOX Mini" enclosure for my old MBP 13" (+Apple TB 2->3 adapter and 0,5 m TB2 cable). I only need a eGPU for light Gaming and photo editing. So I'll go for something like a GTX 1050 Ti.
After the buying I read that the power output is only 15 W? At the Zotac website I didn't find something to the power output. The only thing which if found was "Output: Thunderbolt™ 3 port, 4 x USB 3.0 port"...
In near future I want to buy a small light 2in1 like the Dell XPS 13 2in1. The XPS 13 2in1 comes with a 30 W power supply. Do you think the Zotac Box can deliver enough power for the Dell XPS? The internal display won't be used than. The Zotac Box comes with a 180 W power supply and features GPU with a TPD up to 150 W. For example the GTX 1050 Ti has a TPD of 75 W, maybe then more then 15 W can be delivered to the Notebook?
Sorry for the maybe dump questions, I'm new in this eGPU-thing...
The power delivery of the Zotac ABM is 15W, regardless of the card in it. It will at most deliver 15W to the laptop. Whether the laptop can maintain a level charge on just 15W of input power depends on the laptop and the load. In the case of the XPS 2in1, if it requires a 30W power supply, it might be possible for it to maintain the charge on just 15W of power input if it isn't under 100% load and the screen is off, but you won't know until you (or someone else) tests it in practice.

I had already feared that. Luckily I was able to cancel my order. So I'll going for a Gigabyte/Aorus Gaming Box.
Maybe I can get the enclosure alone, or a used one. Full price is too much for my type of use.
I have a Zotac Box AMP mini. With a gigabyte 1060gtx mini 3gb
The external monitor freezes. And I have to unplug the monitor and it goes back to the laptop to work again. Totally freezes the monitor and laptop (Dell XPS 13 9370).
Any idea what gives?
