@nando4, Okey thanks for this link. You mentioned a 20V PD adaptor, where can I find it? how will I make this all arrangement.

Can you please help me with that?

@nando4, There is  another board I want you to look at Razer core Chipset,

Please help me choose between what you suggested to me or this one I sent the link of(Razer_Core Chipset)? I mean I don't know will that combination even work or not, So looking forward  to your expert opinion

You can see commentary about that Razer board at https://egpu.io/forums/deals/worldwide-aliexpress-us70-razer-core-x-chroma-mainboard-add-atx-psu-tb3-cable-for-lowest-cost-100w-pd-tb3-egpu/

I'd suggest go for my the previous posted solution using the JEYI Thunderdock 7 Mini for a cleaner build with more flexibility and at a lower cost.

Can you explain this 20V RD, plus there is another Board Razer Core V2 board

Can you let me know will this board be better, I mean will it be safer to get that or the combination of Jeyi thunderdock, R53sg, Apple TB3-TB2 adapter, and a 20V PD will be okey too?

Does anyone have the JEYI Thunderdock Mini actually and if yes could you check whether it's possible to just slap https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32861465503.html in there? I guess it'd require removing the cover, obviously. I would like to put a small PCIe card there, not a GPU but still this seems like the best place to ask Smile I want to add a QXG-5G2T-111C and hopefully get someone to design a little case for it, even. Would be a wonder of a Thunderbolt dock this way!

Hello,

I have been using a R43SG-TB3 with my HP Spectre x360 13-ap0008nc run an RTX 3060 ti since it launched. Two days ago it suddenly stopped working.
When I connect the thunderbolt cable to my laptop all the white leds light up on the m2-thunderbolt box and the green leds (D1 and D2) light up as usual. The graphics card powers up with fans spinning at high speed but the laptop does not detect any connected devices. The issue is probably identified by the D3 red led (RST) being lit. It seems like everything is powered on but there is a communication issue between the laptop and the R43SG-TB3.

The only thing I changed when it stopped working was organizing cables (which I already tried to put in the original state and that obviously didnt do anything), and there was a Windows update but I doubt that was it either because my eGPU stopped working even on my linux dual-boot where it used to work just fine up till then too.

Did anyone encounter a similar problem (powered on but not detected)? Does anyone know what it means when the D3 RST red led is on?

I already emailed the vendor but didnt get an answer yet, so Im wondering if anyone as any ideas here.
Thanks very much!

@od42 , if the eGPU isn't detected on another notebook then it points to faulty hardware. Then seek a replacement/refund for it.

@nando4, Thanks! Do you mean a faulty GPU or the R43SG-TB3?

Unfortunately I dont have another thunderbolt laptop, eGPU enclosure, or GPU around to pin point what is faulty, but Ill try asking around. I will also try putting the GPU in a desktop next week once I get my hands on one (current covid restrictions dont allow us to travel outside city regions around here till next monday...) to see if the GPU is still working.

Edit: Just to make sure I didnt word my issue incorrectly, I have so far tested it only on one laptop which has both Windows and Linux installed. The eGPU used to work fine on both OSes and then suddenly stopped working on both.

@itsage, so here is what I get, as there are two thunderbolt 4 ports. So one will be used with TB3-TB2 apple adapter.. Other will be used to power the adapter.. Can I use normal phone charger for that. As I have one with 18W power delivery. Correct me if I am wrong..

Also if you can make a step by step guide. Or if  at least write the steps here one by one..

#i am not a techy person... Looking forward to your guidance.

Also tell me are they thunderbolt 4 ports or thunderbolt 3. This product has confusion.

Looking forward to your response

@abdullah_khan, Are you talking about using the JEYI Thunderdock 7 Mini to host the R43SG M.2 adapter for eGPU and connecting your 2017 MacBook Air through the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter? @nando4 has recommended a more economical solution in using Thunderbolt 2 enclosure.
