Could someone recommend a case for this? I use it with a small EVGA 1060 6GB right now and I ordered a plain case from AE which ended up not being wide enough for the board and the cables coming out to the side. Maybe you found a good option, photos are always welcome as well, of course! Smile

Cheers,

JB

Did you got all your parts arrived ? Smile Just reading and trying to solve how to power rx580 with R43SG... Am I right that I need two DELL DA2 power supplies to power this setup ?

I am using it, but only a 1060 6GB. It draws around 140 Watts of power, I measured it under full synthetic load the other day. If your RX580 can work with 220 Watts, you should be fine!

Hello @nando4,

Will this setup work with a TB2 macbook using the Apple TB2 to TB3 adapter? I read on another forum entry that the NVME to TB3 adapter requires power delivered from the TB3 cable attached to the laptop, but that's when using the R43SG combined with an external TB3-NVME enclosure. If that's the case, the apple adapter won't work and only TB3 laptops could be used. Could you or anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

@lars18th, please see this earlier topic reply asking about use of this adapter on a TB2 system:

I am considering as my laptop only has 1 TB3 port, this same port is also the laptop power input port, is it possible to have ADT R43SG provide Power Delivery of 65W?

Thanks for any insights sharing!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

The ADT-Link R43SG isn't specced as providing power delivery. If that is required, consider other enclosures in the Buyer Guide like the Razer Core X.

@nando4, Thks, it is quite a pity! not able to support PD is dilemma, is the only step preventing many to use R43SG!

Hey guys!

Right now I always have to re-plug the TB3 cable after starting my Matebook X Pro to get it to work. When powering up, the NVME-TB3 Adapter has only 2 of its 4 LEDs on and the only solution I found so far was unplugging, waiting a few seconds, and then plugging back in. Once re-plugged, all 4 LEDs turn on and usually the eGPU works fine from there. I always managed to get it to work again but it is quite a nuisance.

Could it be fixed in software? Or some combination of SW1, SW2, SW3 and/or J1? Any ideas?

Cheers!

I checked this ADT-Link R43SG-TB3 and it says max 32Gbps transfer speed. Does it mean it's slightly slower than Razer Core X that provides full thunderbolt 3 40Gbps speed?

Anybody know if one of these would fit in a Thunder 2 enclosure? Contemplating an upgrade, couldn't find dimensions anywhere
