Hello
Maybe somebody can give me an advice on how to fix the BOX.
I have Aorus gamin box+Macbook pro 13 2017  no Touch Bar+1060+thunderbolt cable 2m
After 4 months of good working the box suddenly stopped working. When I play WOT, system crashed and after start strange things!
Box starts only after removing 220 cable a few times during 1-5 minutes. Sometimes, when I put power in and wait for 10-15 min the box starts without resetting power. If I put in the 1060 and plug/unplug the cable several times, led lights start, but Mac does not see the 1060. But usually it is impossible to start the box with the 1060 on board. This all happens when in MacOS, in Windows system the box starts if the 1060 is not installed.
All that is done using a thunderbolt 3 cable 0,5m. If 2m cable is used, the box will never start. Yesterday I bought a new 2m Belkin cable and nothing changed!

unfortunately I don't have a warranty(

My enclosure has the same thing I guess. The Thunderbolt controller is recognized, but the GPU fan does not start and the video card is not recognized.

himmm It might be the same for me sometimes it bugged down can't start fro Auros Gaming Box 1080.   The fixed I have is normally to remove the AC power cord, Thunderbolt 3 and all cables in box for few minutes then plugin again working afterwards. (bootcamp)

I've updated my firmware and drivers  usually.

1. Before I normally  hot plug my  eGPU when windows loading (circling loading icon)
2. Now I have an option to wait until Windows fully loaded wait for few seconds like 10-15 then plug-it in also working.

As for MacOS still working for me but normally last time it broke after OS update I have to re-do the procedure found on this eGPU.io

My only issue is it randomly restart from time to time for unknown reason, normally happens after it completely loaded the windows and eGPU starts.

I have similar problems. I have a Macbook pro 15 2017  + aorus gaming box 1080. I usually use the egpu under bootcamp. It works pretty well for the first 3 months. But one day suddenly it stops working. The PSU works normally but the egpu was not recognized, and the USB ports were not working as well. Then I sent it back to the manufacturer for repairing and after a few weeks it was sent back. But it is the same as before, only very occasionally the gpu lights turn on and it works. I've tried updated the thunderbolt 3 firmware, and unplug/plug power after 10 min or 30 min. Sometimes it works but for most of the time, the gpu is silence as dead. I'm so eager to see the green led light turned on as if I were Gatsby!!
I've read similar problems for laptops other than macbooks. So I think this is not a software problem, but inside the gaming box itself. I'm preparing to send it back to repair again.

UPDATE:

So yesterday I said to myself I would try the box again.

So I plugged it in, same thing: the enclosure is working and the thunderbolt controller is recognized but the GPU fan does not work and there is no graphic adapter recognized.

I left everything plugged in and did some other thing (browse internet). 30 minutes later, the GPU fan started and Windows installed the GPU! Whaaat..

I was able to reboot in OSX and still see and use the box.

One thing though the box freezes when the GPU is under full load after a couple of seconds/minutes. If I under clock pretty much the GPU with wattman very aggressively, the system is stable (but the performance are obviously horrible).

So I suspect the PSU is in fault. I am waiting for an ATX PSU tomorrow to try the box with another PSU.

So I will keep you updated.

I had a similar awakening, but I still did not understand why this is happening.

I also tried another power supply and all the same
