AORUS Gaming Box: What GPUs do work, and which ones do not?
@jaskarn_bajwa, I don't have mine anymore. Sorry!
There are several people in this thread that had it working though.
@arzen, No problem, I've seen some of the posts, one guy got it working plug and play with the 1080 box!
basically my question is for those that have done the mod wether or not they did both the shorting the x16 prsnt AND the 12v to pin 1 trick or just one / the other.
@arzen, success！following your mentioned post, I was able to power the ITX version of 5700 every time I plug it in. thanks for the help! I attached some of the photos during my installation and modification. pictures were taken from different days.
@jisongkun When you first attempted this and it didn't work did you only connect the PRSNT 2's for the x16 to the x8, then this time you had done the 12v to Pin 1?
In this case, do you have prsnt 2's jumped and the 12v as well?
hej, I've got problems with my Gaming Box RX580. I think that the GPU might be broken. Everytime I try to connect with it, I get a BSoD. Unfortunately germany's Gigabyte doesn't help me with this as I don't have a invoice, because I bought this from someone else. Ran perfectly fine for nearly a year and then suddenly: dead. Rechecked it on a Mac, same thing.
Now: Which ITX card, that is in stock, can I get to check, if the board itself has a problem or "only" the GPU. Box itself works as a bulky and expensive power brick with USB-hub features (and deactivated GPU). This thread relates to the nvidia Gaming Boxes, but everything noted here should work for the RX580-one as well?
Thank you for your help
In a desktop the PC does not post at all, so I figure the GPU actually is broken. I've also tried to reflash the VBIOS, which seemed to work, but still no POST on desktop and of course the same behaviour with connected via Gaming Box/TB3. As the most cards mentioned here are not available at my place, I wanted to ask if someone has any experience with this graphics card: ASRock Radeon RX 5500 XT Challenger ITX 8G - again thank you for any help regarding this!
Zenbook 3 Deluxe - i5-7200U, 8GB /w eGPU: RX 580 Gaming Box
I just started this trip of the eGPU thing mostly because I want to learn about machine learning and also because I'm a huge gamer.
I did a little bit of research and for this enclosure it only works with mini GPU (ITX size a think). I looked about the GTX 1060 mini that are on sale on eBay and I'm thinking of buying one of those. But also, I read on this forum that the only graphic cards that work are the 3Gb RAM and not the 6Gb.
However, I found a GTX 1070 on a decent price and I think is like the same one it comes with the enclosure, but I'll rather save money because I'm planning to buy a new computer in a couple of years.
Hope I can find some help from you guys.
People of EGU.IO,
I hope, lol.
Thank you in advance!
Just an update that when my 1070 died and whilst waiting for it to be repaired I installed a single fan 'AMD' branded RX580. (6pin power), which i think came in a dell prebild originally.
I plugged it into my 1070 box and it worked great incase anyone else is trying to change their 1070 box into an AMD one.
