AORUS Gaming Box: What GPUs do work, and which ones do not?
Power wise should be ok I think.
Very interesting to see whether it works with the gaming box
A) 2020 MacBook Pro, i7-1068NG7, 32GB RAM, 1TB, EGPU Razer Core X, Nitro+ RX5700 xt 8Gb, Samsung 49 1440p UltraWide C49RG
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7, Internal Bootcamp Windows 10 2004 pci.sys swap.
B) 2.7 GHz I7 4 Cores, 16Gb, 1TB MBP 13 2018 TB3 , EGPU Razer Core X, Nitro+ RX5700 xt 8Gb, LG 32UK550
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2, Ext SSD Windows 10 1903 V1 .295
Whats the price on the RX5700 ITX in Japan and Russia?
I tried putting a Radeon Pro WX 5100 in the 2070 Aorus Gaming Box but nothing happens. The WX5100 is a pretty low power card (75W) and thus doesn't have any plugs power. It gets all its power from the PCIe slot. I haven't been brave enough to try shorting the pins, though.
Asus just released their own mini version of the RTX2070 which according to their own specs, it's 7.8x4.8x 1.5. Does anybody know if this would fit the AGB?
EDIT: seems like it's a bit larger than the Gigabyte RTX2070 mini which is ~6.70 (vs 7.8). What are the chances of still fitting it in?
Can confirm two cases for AORUS Gaming Box 1080:
1. Radeon RX 570 Sapphire Mini Pulse PCI-E 4096Mb (11266-34-20G)
Works out-of-the-box. Just plug-and-play.
2. Radeon RX 5700 PowerColor PCI-E 8192Mb (AXRX 5700 ITX 8GBD6-2DH)
Works, but with 12V trick (posted before in this thread) slightly modified (other cable method used).
Which cable method did you use? Soldering from PCI-E to PCI-E slot/under-board or from the PSU cable 12V? Something else?
Can you take a picture of your modification? Thanks!
