So, I'm looking at a Razer Core X enclosure for an AMD RX 580, but I just realised that my MacBook Air (2017) doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 port, which is apparently required for the setup to work. So, I'm thinking that I can use a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, and a Thunderbolt 2 cable with one end connected to the adapter and the other end connected with the Mac. Will this setup work? Also, do I need to connect an external monitor for the enclosure, and if so, will a 4K TV do the job? Sorry for so many questions, I'm really new to the eGPU community.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
