dGPU is disabled after connecting to eGPU

I have a lenovo P71 with a Quadro P4000, which I connect to a Titan Xp in a Razer Core V2.  My eGPU works with no issues - it was detected with no issues the first time I used it and plugging in the thunderbolt cable works when the laptop is on or from a cold boot.

However, after connecting the laptop to the eGPU, the dGPU is disabled, even after a reboot.  It seems like it's driver related, since asking Windows to reinstall the drivers fixes the issue, but it gets disabled again as soon as I connect to the eGPU.  Is there some way to get a set of drivers that support both GPUs?  Is there any way to tell if this is a GeForce vs. Quadro thing or a Desktop vs. Mobile thing?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
