Hi @chocomonsters

it' s possible to change the Corsair CP-8920143 PCIe cable with another one that is not from Corsair or you need that Corsair one? Because I don't find it...

Thank you!!

You can use any of these Corsair cables, whatever color you want.  They work with the SF450 and SF600 PSUs.

Done! Changed my Node's PSU ...it's very very silent now! Really, big step forward! Maybe I will change the Node's fan too...

.....aaaaaand I have change the Akitio Node's fan too with Corsair AF120! Very satisfied about noise! Indeed, I'm happy with the quiet!

Huge difference for sure, this is the way the Node should come from AKiTiO.  Using cheap, noisy components to save a few bucks just cheapens the whole experience.  I would've happily paid more to get a Node with better, quieter components...and ultimately I did, I just had to install them myself.  😀  Can't even tell it and the 1080Ti are powered on until I start playing a GPU-intensive game.

Im wondering if anyone has adding fans at the back of the node?
The grills seems to be able to fit at 2 25mm fan but there isnt any good fans at that size.

Im thinking of mounting a 40mm noctua fan with strong adhesive tape to push the hot air out from the case.

@drax392: I agree. Akitio's PSU is definitely louder than GPU, and even some Flex ATX PSUs with a 4cm fan feel more quiet (though a bit buzzy).

@anima   Thanks for catching that.  Correct one from that vendor is below link for 3 to 2 pin converter.

Thinking about making these mods myself - I'm struggling to get the 3 to 2 pin adapter - D style in the UK. Is there another name for it? Does anyone know where I could get one from?

You should be able to order the "D" style adapter directly from Cooler Guys, they do ship to the UK according to their site.

I just replaced both the PSU fan as well as the fan on the front. The two connectors are DIFFERENT, so it was a bit of a hit an miss with the adapters. For the front fan I got this one:  https://www.caseking.de/luefter-adapterkabel-2-pin-zu-3-pin-molex-zuad-176.html

This one did not fithttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B003D6O53Q

For the PSU I did not find the correct adapter at all. I just cut the cables of the old fan and joined them together with the new fan in these little metal pipes with some isolating tape around. It's really silent now.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Indeed, which adapter you need depends on which parts you're using.  I would hope people would buy the adapter needed for the parts they're buying and not assuming everything uses the same connector.  So, if someone says they're having a hard time finding a "D" connector in the UK then I'll point them to where they can order a "D" connector in the UK.  😉

Glad you got your install sorted out, so much more pleasant having everything quiet.
