Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 Gaming Box - Possible Group Buy
Definitely interested if they put a proper GPU into it.
I need at least 8GB (better 16) for work... the mini-ITX RX 580 only has 4GB right? ..... we already got the puck for that..
@itsage is it possible to verify with Aorus/Gigabyte whether they will solve this issue?
@rodrisanz We found all eGPU enclosures with expansion I/O experience this USB issue. Intel's solution was to add a second TB3 controller as seen in the Razer Core V2. A partial solution was a Thunderbolt firmware that places restriction on H2D speed.
@christopher_korling: if you need WX9100 eGPU, then the only AMD-approved option is Sonnet Breakaway Box 650.
AMD ProGraphics cards are only made by AMD, so they are available only one form factor. Enterprise 18.Q1 driver already supports XConnect for WX9100
Registered just to say that I would be very very interested in this! The big thing holding me back from the 1070 and 1080 Gaming Box was the fact that I've got a Freeysnc monitor.
@nombrescreeno I considered the puck, but I'm really looking for a single TB3 cable solution for my setup and there's no USB hub on the puck. I also like that the Gigabyte boxes can be upgraded in the future (assuming that card you want comes in small enough ITX size).
You also can't get Sonnet devices in Australia, bringing them over yourself would cost a fair chunk of cash!
If Gigabyte only do a 580 version I'll go for it. The possibility of Official MacOS support with 10.3.4 is a huuuuge draw for me and I'll probably upgrade my laptop late this year/early next once Quad Core's are available in the 13" form factor (already so with Razer's 2018 Blade). I'll get 16GB at the same time then as well (hopefully DDR4L too!).
