Just want to pass along that the Vega Nano seems to be working just fine in my gigabyte gaming box.  You will need an 8 pin pcie to 2x 6+2pin pcie adapter.

I added 6 Nichicon solid aluminum 2200uF in-line caps (low ESR, high capacitance, high ripple) - hopefully that adds stability to the mix.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere yet - if so, mods, please feel free to move thread.

The vega nano is awesome - no idea why gigabyte isn't putting this card in their gaming box, it is PERFECT.

Nice. I use the R9 Nano in 1070 Gaming Box (sold GTX1070). The only reason I have no interest in upgrading to this one is that I have only ever purchased full-fat AMD GPUs. The RX Vega Nano is only Vega 56 and hence has some transistors disabled.

Owned HD6970, HD7970, 2x R9280X, 2x R9 Nano, and screw Nvidia big time. Dodged a bulled with my first GPU when I made the decision to opt for HD6970 over GTX580, never looked back.

Does the Vega series of cards have similar issues when running in bootcamp as the 580 does?

@itsage come on champ, spill the beans on the Vega based mini egpu you know about. I'd be tempted to switch monitors if its a looker.

Good sir can you explain what the nichicon caps are for.  I had the chance to buy this for 449, but I hesitated because I didn’t know if it supported.  I feel so stupid.   I kind of just want to end my life and quit this whole thing. Last month it was bad I checked Newegg everyday. It’s of no use.   This whole month been sad and utterly worthless. Powercolor doesn’t say anything about their next stock.

caps are to better regulate power delivery... you can check other mod sites/google for better DIY guides/explanation for that sort of thing.

Yeah just to enhance reliability - no idea if I needed to do the mod or not.

So far, things have been good - it runs a little hot so I turn the vega fan up a bit with the radeon tuning tools and it is still WAY quiter than a razer core and rock solid with the additional fan speed.

Highly recommended!
