Hi itsage,

I have the thunderbolt software installed but still cannot pass Hurdle #1.
Any ideas?

The software version is 16.2.55.275

Hey,

I think I have the same problem as @peiran_liu. I have a 2018 15" Macbook Pro with an Aorus RX580 box. Is there any way to actually flash the firmware to improve performance?

Try the latest thunderbolt driver for titan bridge. It works for me.

I tried flashing the eGPU firmware this weekend on an AORUS RTX 2070 Gaming Box [H2D firmware]. In Boot Camp things got easier in that you would only need Intel Thunderbolt Software [17.4.77.400] version. Once installed the FW Update Tool worked without issues. This was done on a 2018 Mac mini running Windows 10 1809.

Hi , I still have an issue for running egpu on win10 bootcamp. i use imac latest 2017 with radeon pro 550 inside , and mantix with radeon vega installed. when i turn on my mantiz while the win10 running, i saw the computer management adding new driver radeon vega automaticly , but after that all goes black screen. is there anyway to solve this ? thank you.

My Mac: iMac Retina 4k 21.5 inch, 2017, Intel core i5, Radeon pro 555 2 gb , Mantiz eGPU with Radeon Vega 56 8 GB my signature to give context to my posts

This was on macbook pro 13 2017 model

check bootcampdrivers.com is the best choice to run one set of drivers for both AMD dGPU & eGPU.

I honestly don't even get it why bother installing the thunderbolt 3 driver? Is it just for plug and play? I just installed Windows on an external SSD via SATA port on my eGPU enclosure and, after installing the required graphics driver, am able to run the eGPU in Windows perfectly fine. I should note that I'm using an AMD RX 570, which supports AMD xConnect natively, and there is an icon in the system tray which allows me to disconnect my eGPU at any time, although I won't do that because everything is connected to my MacBook via one single TB3 cable.

@louis_zhou In order to flash the Thunderbolt 3 firmware of an enclosure, the system needs Intel Thunderbolt Software to communicate with the EEPROM chipset.

Is it even possible to get past #1 on a 2019 MacBook Pro 13"?

@alec 2019 13" MacBook Pro uses Titan Ridge controllers so it should work similarly to the 2018 Mac mini in terms of Intel Thunderbolt Software. You don't really need it unless you have to flash the enclosure's firmware.
