I was under the impression that the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter is what everybody was using but my Macbook Retina 2013 has a different kind of thunderbolt 3 port, not usb-c so… is this even possible?

.@rmvz3, to be clear, the Thunderbolt 3 end of the adapter connects to the Thunderbolt 3 enclosure, then a Thunderbolt 2 cable connects the adapter to the MacBook Pro.
