Is it safe to use a power delivery eGPU through a Thunderbolt cable, and then also plug in the dedicated charger?

Is it safe to connect an eGPU with a power source from a closure through a Thunderbolt cable to a laptop, and then also plug in the laptop's dedicated charger when:

a) the eGPU closure is turned on and the charger is plugged in and turned on

b) the eGPU closure is turned off and the charger is plugged in and turned on

@z_z, Each Thunderbolt device and host goes through certification process to ensure safety. As long as all your components (including TB3 cable & charger) have Thunderbolt certification, all should be fine.
