@mrcat, Supply chain issues delay a lot of manufacturing so I guess the Legion BoostStation eGPU enclosure won't be available until Q4.

@itsage, I was really looking forward to this eGPU. So sad. ðŸ˜

@itsage, Dual TB3 controller. PM me for layout, I cannot message yet.

.Nice 😀
Any word on release date?
Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1 (i7 8650u, 16GB LPDDR3) + Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet 3rd Gen (i7 8550u, 16GB LPDDR3) + Mantiz Saturn Pro V2 + RTX 3070
@itech, Thank you very much for sharing the Thunderbolt 3 mainboard photos. The bottom of the mainboard shows two sets of Thunderbolt 3 controllers and EEPROM chipsets. Priced at $250 with 100W Power Delivery and all kinds of expansion, it will undercut the Razer Core X Chroma by $150 (60% less).

So it is dual controller! That's nice. Especially considering the target price.
But they used USB controllers to drive all the peripherals, including SATA and Ethernet WhyyyYyyyyyy???!
At least the realtek RTL8153 is a decent controller and should perform better than the AX88179.
The USB controllers are better than those present in the Core V2 with USB3.1 Gen2 (instead of Gen1). And they are cleverly arranged so that two controllers can handle SATA, Ethernet and rear USB ports at the same time.
I don't understand why they didn't use PCIe x2 (instead of x1) between USB and thunderbolt controllers? Is that schematic accurate? Because the x2 links would explain why they didn't use PCIe SATA and Ethernet dedicated controllers.

Also, the "USB 2 lost port" that is derived directly from the USB-C controller is super cool!!
It's the first time I see that configuration.
If I understand correctly, it use both the four high-speed lanes and the USB2.0 data lane of the thunderbolt cable at the same time. Respectively for thunderbolt and USB 2.0 protocol. So the rear USB 2.0 does not go trough thunderbolt and is not affected by PCIe or thunderbolt data congestion at all. Basically it is zero lag... maybe for a mouse.
