Hello there,

Since I have a MacBook Air 13 inch 2017, I was planning to connect a Aorus Gaming BOX (GTX 1070 or RX 580) to the MacBook via Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter . The MacBook Air has integrated graphics (HD 6000) and Thunderbolt 2. This should work without any problems with a TB2 to TB3 adapter correct on MacOS High Sierra?

Any help is welcomed,
Adam

Neither the 2017 MacBook Air [Thunderbolt 2] nor AORUS GTX 1070 Gaming Box [Nvidia] has native eGPU support in macOS. Besides the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter + Thunderbolt cable, you'd need a software modification to make macOS High Sierra work with your equipment. I'd recommend using Purge-Wrangler script.
