Can anyone upload a photo of the silkscreen of the Venus? I don't know how it is. Maybe you @Mymantiz_John!

Thanks!!

What do you mean by silkscreen?

Hopefully I get a quick response. I am just about to buy a SSD card on Amazon (I cant check whilst I am at work and I want to take advantage of next day delivery), does the mantiz come with all the cables or do I have to buy any to make the SSD work?

The Venus has the necessary power connector attached to its PSU, but you'll need a SATA cable in order to connect the SSD to the board. Length-wise I used a 20 cm cable and that's easily long enough.

Hi!

So I just got the mantiz venus to use with MBP late 2016 15" and fitted an Asus Strix 1080 in it(had to connect the power first before putting it inside as ITSage mentioned).

IMG 2151

It looks amazing.

The process was pretty straight forward, apart from replacing the fan with Noctua NF-A8 PWM which came with screws that doesn't fit the holes in the Venus so I had to take the chassis apart, and use the included rubber "screws" and somehow got it fitted.

After getting everything done I tried some Overwatch on epic settings and got an average of 140fps. However the GPU heats up to 62-65 and hot air blows from underneath, I tried to use it without the cover and almost same results, I know blower type cards would be a much better choice for eGPUs since it blows the air outside the chassis and not inside

But are these temperatures ok for the venus if it's not would it damage the main board of the venus?

One more thing, I tried touching this part of the board and it's extremely hot, even without any load or playing any games, is that normal too? And is there a way to monitor the boards temperature?

Just got my Mantiz enclosure two days ago. Installed an EVGA 1080Ti.

I'm running a late 2013 MacBook pro with bootcamp. I upgraded to windows 10 and updated the thunderbolt drivers (linked above). I'm also using the TB2<->3 adapter from apple. When I boot to my windows partition with the enclosure plugged in, the boot hangs before the windows splash page. If I try to hot plug, nothing happens. There is no "New thunderbolt device have been attached" at any point.

The lights on the video card light up and the Mantiz fan starts spinning when I hot plug the unit. I have an external monitor connected to the video card. Earlier when I tried to connect, I was able to get video output to the monitor, but the computer still didn't recognize the GPU. The resolution outputted to the monitor was especially low. When I unplug the enclosure, the lights on the GPU switch off and the Mantiz fan stops.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there anyway to turn the video card off via software but continue to use the venus as a dock when I am not playing games?

I think you are talking about the IR8 extremely hot. That is the power delivery area. once your laptop is charged, it will be cool down and the temperature over there is under the specification, industrial standard and our design value.

System fan you can plug on the first Fan conn ( Count from the left ) to get the lower RPM. so you dont need to change to the other one.
