Hi all,

I have Mantiz venus e-gpu (from group buy in 2017), so far it worked fine until I decided to connect a SATA SSD (sandisk extreme, only SATA power cable), but I also didn't have SATA cable, so I have to put the GPU into the mantiz venus again (So basically what I did: detach GPU and put it again)

The problem starts here, when PSU is turned on, it can charges my macbook pro at 86w, but the GPU won't turn on (first time I have a problem like this).

I also tried to use another GPU (I have RX-480 and RX-5700XT, I don't think if it was GPU's fault, especially since i've used both and they worked fine)

Another ports (5x USB and 1x ethernet port)

- 2xUSB (front) can power on external hdd but it doesn't appear on mac's disk utility

- 3xUSB (back) can't power on external hdd

- Ethernet port doesn't turn on when I plug RJ45

Tested on Macbook's 4 TB ports and still get the same result

Not sure what's wrong, maybe the eGPU's mainboard died / broke ? I examined it and there's no sign of burnt spots

Specs:

- Macbook pro 15inch 2018

- Mantiz Venus (2017)

- RX5700-XT and RX580

- Caldigit TB3 cable

Does anyone run into the same problem before ?

Thank you

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@megaman-xz, My only guess is that during the graphics card removal, some components inside or on the mainboard might have been knocked loose. Can you take it all apart to inspect?

hi @itsage thank you for the suggestion,

Yeah, I did it today

but seems like nothing wrong (will try to check again this weekend)

I wonder if the motherboard (controller) was the problem ? Since it can do power delivery (87 watt) but can't recognize the gpu and daughter board (5x USB3.0, 1x ethernet port)
