It's here and it's perfect. This is way better.

Post a picture with the two slot back plate replacing the three slot back plate? Did you have to make any modifications, like bending the lip on the right side of the two slot back plate?

It fit perfectly, I didn't have to bend or alter anything else in any way besides installing the new plate on the card.

I took pictures while I was setting it up and actually tried uploading them with my original post and kept getting errors and eventually ran out of time. This time around they uploaded without any issues.

I think bending would make a much better fit. The second picture shows the card is at an angle (a V shaped gap > at the bracket), the bracket is not flush with the underlying plate. The third picture shows a larger gap between the 3rd DisplayPort and the two-slot base plate, compared with the other 4 ports (two DisplayPorts, HDMI, and USB-C).

*shrug* I'm a software guy. A big part of what you're describing is likely due to my lack of manual competence. I was also in a hurry while I was taking the pics. But for $15 for the plate, it seems like a good, low, risk to try out.

I don't think you need to be a hardware guy to see the problem. I drew a picture. What you have is (A). What it should be is (B). Does (A) match what you see?

I can't tell if the topic of discussion is the fit of the part or my craftsmanship 😀

I can pull the chassis out and take some better pictures, and I'll double check my work. But sitting in front of it, it looked solid.

Do you at least see the gap I am trying to point out and understand how it might be a problem? Maybe the gap is not sufficiently large enough to cause a problem.

I'm just worried you might be torquing/twisting the card because of that gap. There's some strange angles in your second picture that I show in red. Maybe they are caused by the angle of the camera.

I am also wondering if the third DisplayPort connector is usable? Maybe DisplayPort connectors are longer than the gap.
