Razer Chroma X Enclosure suddenly non-functional?

I've been running a Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 (9575) + Razer Core X Chroma + GTX 970 4GB setup for about 6 months mostly flawlessly.

Today, when I connected my thunderbolt cable, the GPU started as normal but my displays only turned of for a second or two before losing signal. I restarted my PC multiple times and eventually noticed that the lights on my enclosure kept flickering and re-starting the color cycle.

I'm not sure what is happening but I can't get my enclosure to work anymore, I keep connecting it, get display for a second, lose it all, and watch my GPU seemingly stutter endlessly through the lights. Any idea as to what might cause this or is it an established issue?

I'm no expert, but it sounds very possible that you have a power supply problem.

Try connecting the Core X Chroma without the GPU in it. If the lights stay on and it stays connected then it'd tell you that the PSU was no longer able to supply enough power.

There may be some people with actual hardware experience here who could give you some details on how to test the PSU with a multimeter.

Good luck!
