Razer Core X Chroma, is it Possible to prioritize USB/Network on the TB3 connection?

So a little backstory.... I bought a Razer Blade 240hz 2070 max-q for "work" when im away (which is very frequent at least traveling once a week), So for home I bought a Razer Core X Chroma and a 2080 ti... The problem is, If I plug anything into the back of the Chroma X [usb ports] (I want to plug my Razer Mamba Elite, Razer Blackwidow X, Razer Laptop Stand and Razer Goliath Chroma XL) all the lights and devices just disconnect and reconnect all the time.

I contacted Razer and they said "Because you have a 2080 ti its stopping the USB's from working, because of how much data" even thou I dont even play games. Is there a way to prioritize the USB Ports rather then Bottleneck it with the GPU?

So that my Devices dont constantly disconnect and reconnect etc etc. (I very very rarely ever play a video game... so I am not too worried about ingame performance too much!)

Why don't you plug all your USB stuff on a USB hub (very cheap) connected to one of the USB port of your Razer Blade, so that the thunderbolt port of your Razer Core is used for eGPU only? I have this kind of setup for my Razer Blade Stealth connected to eGPU through Akitio node, and this works very well at full speed...

I mean I could....

But my idea was.... that I would only need to hook my power adapter and Thunderbolt 3 Cable up to the laptop, (TB3) to external display, and my mouse and keyboard etc etc all hooked up to the eGPU's USB's, I do not actually use a USB Hub. Hence why I bought the Razer Core X Chroma over just the Razer Core X........

I'm getting the same problem with a Radeon VII

I've heard Chroma's USB ports has bandwidth problem with external drives. But after I received it, external drive works fine, but keyboard/mouse/USB audio constantly disconnect and reconnect.

To be honest, I really don't care if GPU is working on it's max performance all the time, I just want a real one cable solution, which is the reason why I bought core x chroma instead of core x.

Is Razer aware of this issue? Hopefully it could be solved with a firmware update in future.

So... I dont know if this is factual or not.

However, I noticed that my Chroma Laptop Stand was DCing even my laptop when plugged in via USB....

And... Razer got an update... and it shut down my "computer" for said update.

But I was re-arranging my desk.... So I thought I might as well try the USB thing again... And... Nothing has Disconnected once... (every single thing is plugged into the Razer Core X Chroma, mouse(mamba elite), keyboard(Blackwidow X TE), Chroma Laptop stand(which has frozen BUT NO DC'd!) and my Goliath Extended Chroma).

So far after 3 days, not a single disconnect... I dont play games, but I think they may have fixed something!

EDITED: Just tested in a game, (Monster Hunter: World) and... I only lost maybe 1 or 2 FPS... could be warmer in my room or anything... not enough to notice anyway, with everything plugged in, no Disconnects while IN game either.

Hi Cameron, thanks for your update. I'm wondering are you using any USB hub with these ports? or everything is connected directly to the ports on Core

No I am not... my Keyboard, Mouse, Laptop Stand Chroma and my Goliath Chroma is all plugged directly into the Core X.

The wierd thing is... If I plug my Laptop stand in these days... Its broken, I think I need to RMA my Laptop Stand, the lights will shut off and everything... I think its just plain broken.

I had the same issue when I connected the monitor usb hub to the core, and then all peripherals from the monitor were disconnecting super frequently.

Moving them to the core directly seem to have fixed. On windows at least (on linux the usb hub from core doesn't seem to work at all for me), but on windows I've also disable the property of each USB device in the  device manager to not allow power management from the computer on it (device manager > USB/HUD -> each one: properties > power management > unselect the allow computer to manage power or something like that.

The Razer Core X Chroma is flawed by design. I have no idea how Razer could release something this broken. I bought it a couple of months ago to go along with my RB13 (1650 edition) and quickly found than the Ethernet and USB ports are pretty much unreliable to the point of being unusable. You can google it and you will find countless of people reporting the same story.

I returned mine quickly and got the cheaper Core X instead. I use a USB C dongle for Ethernet and additional USB ports and it works flawlessly.

Razer Blade 13 (GTX 1650), 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, Razer Core X, Asus Strixx RTX 2060 Super
