I've got a 2015 15" Macbook Pro and looking to get either a Razer X Core or Razer X Core Chroma but before I pull the trigger I'm trying to work out if the USB hub is working over the TB2/TB3 adapter in Mac OS and/or Windows 10 bootcamp. I'm aware of the work arounds required to get non TB3 Macs to recognnise eGPUs, but I can't find any info specifically relating to the USB hub in this situation.

I'm thinking to pair with a RX 580 as this is what my budget allows at the moment. Will this still be worthwhile. Benchmarks seems to suggest it will be, but I'm pretty fresh to eGPUs and benchmarking in general.

Cheers!

From the buyer's guide -> TB3 enclosures -> footnotes

5 If [TB3 enclosure is] used on a TB2/1 system via a US$49 Apple TB3-TB2 adapter, USB ports are not visible in Windows (inc Aorus' fan control). They do appear in macOS. Ref: theitsage.

@nando4, Thanks for that. I decided to go the Razer Core X based on this.

I still can't actually find that footnote that you refer to though.

Cheers.
