Nice review! I think the Razer Core is heavy overpriced. There are plenty of better egpu enclosures, like the Mantiz Venus. I use a Mac computer so the Core isnt the best choice for me.

This could be my foot in the door, I have been a lurking egpu forums since I first wanted to get an egpu for my macbook pro back in 2011 when thunderbolt was first announced and here I am still with no egpu.

I have been following eGPU's since I had my first Thunderbolt laptop, this might be my chance to try one! I'd like to enter the giveaway.

The Razer Core seems expensive, but when you break down the parts into the components like your picture you do get quite a lot for your money compared to a lot of cheaper alternatives, whether or not you need those extra parts is another question Smile

Apart from the fact of the TI82 controller, I must say that IMHO the design is the best out there, being the best balance between interior PSU and the final size of the product. Sadly the power delivery is just 45W too. With a TI83 and a power delivery of 87W, would be the clear winner of eGPU. Just in my opinion. Thanks for an amazing review again.

Wonderful review! Only God knows how long I waited for a detailed review of this enclosure Smile
After 3 years I'm ready to work on a eGPU project on my laptop.. I purchased everything what i need except a good GPU to test it (too much money for my economic situation hahah), I hope to win this giveaway and conclude my egpu setup, and finally get my contribute to this great communtiy.
Good luck all!!! Smile

P.S:  Sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian

Neat.

I would definitely like to see a more affordable enclosure.

But why is the Z170X TEST BENCH so much faster?

(I'm assuming that's a desktop computer).

P.S. wouldn't mind winning that video card raffle Smile
