I have been using my ROG Station 2 for around a year and a half now with a GTX 2070 and my Razer Blade Stealth (late 2019 edition) with no issues whatsoever. But over the last couple of days, whenever I plug my laptop into it, after a short period of time (between 30 seconds to 20 minutes) the laptop freezes (completely unresponsive, even after unplugging it from the eGPU) with the only option being to turn it off by holding the power button.

After confirming that the issue doesn't occur when the laptop isn't plugged into the ROG Station, I tried unplugging all peripherals from the eGPU, but the problem still persisted.
I then updated all my drivers (confirmed via programs such as Driver Easy), used 'Display Driver Uninstaller' before reinstalling the latest nVidia driver but again, the problem persisted.
Lastly, I have tried updating the firmware of the ROG XG Station 2 using 'ASUS_ROG_XG_Station_2_AR_EP_4C_B1_rev25_W_TI_4_3_3_NO_MOD_SEC1_sign_0419.bin'.
I can't spot anything out of the ordinary in the Event Viewer ( https://bit.ly/33j9LE5 ) or graphics card monitoring software (such as EVGA Precision X1) and have even tried rolling my PC back to a previous image (from a month ago) but nothing has fixed the issue.

All this has led me to believe there is a hardware issue with my ROG Station, but is there any way to confirm this? Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

For anyone else that has a similar issue, this seems to have fixed it for me!

@crimsonnight, Thank you for posting this, every bit of information collected into one spot helps a lot.

TomB, AW51m R2 with an Akitio Node Titan (3080 OC inside). Why? Because I like having a Desktop At home and Gaming on the go but, I hate using P2P to share files.
