@mac_editor, That's a bit disheartening. Good luck with it! I successfully installed Catalina on a different partition and was able to successfully flash my Mantiz Venus. The firmware I downloaded must have been the one that doesn't work very well with the USB ports though. @ikir has the standard firmware, and I think that's the one I'm looking for. Will try that out when I hear back from him.

Does anyone still have the firmware for the Razer X Chroma?

Was trying to experiment this script with my Chroma but I lost the firmware bin. Should only have one version iirc. Thanks in advance!🙏

Can this be used to re-flash the EEPROM on the Blackmagic eGPU? For some reason, Big Sur keeps corrupting the EEPROM on my unit, Blackmagic tells me there is no way to flash it on my own at home, and it's not worth it to spend $50 to send it to them every time (already did that once).

@reverendhughes, at the moment the tool is not supported on Big Sur, so you can try flashing on Catalina provided you have the firmware (extractable from Blackmagic Firmware update package). I've just been super-busy and haven't had the chance to work on this and other tools.

@mac_editor hi!! thx for sharing your scripts here. I have bought a nMacpro 2013 and installed my razer x core eGPU with an 5700xt using your pure-wrangler! and everything works perfect. But I want to flash my eGFX to be able to see apple logo on startup (and access recovery partition, or selectable boot, and so...). So, if I understood what you said, I need the FW bin for my razer x core, but I didnt find it anywhere.

What can I do? Can I use TBTFlash without that bin?

@alexmenn, Where did you get the information on flashing the firmware of the enclosure would allow the boot screen through the eGPU?

right in the first post:

I understood that if I flash the eGFX, I will se apple logo at boot. Did I misunderstood it?

@alexmenn, That was @mac_editor's explanation of the enclosure FW flashing process. As the flashing is taking place, Apple logo and progress bar is showing through the internal display or an external monitor connected to a headless Mac's iGPU/dGPU. Boot screen support through the eGPU is not officially supported on any systems. There was a brief period during 10.15 beta that has this support for the 2018 Mac mini.

ok you are right. What he mean is that apple logo and progress bar in boot screen (in mac igpu/dgpu) means flashing progress started. Okaaaay. Thank you!! 

then; my razer core x is ok OOB; I think I dont need flash it. Im running it with tb2/tb3 adapter and I know I only have about 75% gpu “power”, I dont think that flashing egpu will improve it; right?
