@quambo - "Whats the matter about AMD or Akitio being involved here"

I think they realized there's an increasing audience of people who have the technical know-how to call out any bullshit. The two outcomes are that they get their ducks in a row (I am not holding my breath for this one), or they get cold feet and never appear here again.

I am going to repeat my recommendation: Do not back this thing. If it ever makes it to the market, we'll know what it is worth (since they met their funding goal). If it doesn't, there's going to be a few hundred people very unhappy with a loss of a few hundred dollars, each, and you don't want to be in that bunch.

EDIT: Some state AGs in the US have already (successfully) prosecuted failed kickstarters for fraud. I wonder what the Attorney General for Quebec, the Ministere de la Justice, will have to say about this if they fail to deliver.

Notebookcheck has someone referring to this thread, so that seems covered.

By the way, . Looks like it was not taken down after all. With the auto-translate and my limited knowledge of Spanish, it still makes for an interesting watch, especially 4" target="true">when they get to analyzing the team photo and point out one of them is a model, another is Edgar's (the CEO) girlfriend, another person in the team picture is the owner of the prototyping company that make the plastic casing,

Here is where that channel owner claims to not work for exklim:

I stated earlier that the product itself is not that impossible. Quite possible from a technical aspect. Not taking certification and licensing into account.

But the right out mix of ignorant, aggressive and threatening behaviour tells me this is nothing more than a scam.

Every other decent product developer - and I personally know quite a few ranging from high end Trimble to smaller companies staffed with less then five people - will happily tell you about their products.
They know them, the technical challenges and what they do better or worse then the competition out there.

Even on this forum representatives or staff from Mantis, Akitio and AMD is happily answering questions, offer guidance or at least acknowledge the problem or lack of solution in those cases.

These “developers” give us BS and threats.
That is not how developers do it. That’s how scammers work.

Apologize, I didn’t know Akitio and AMD was involved in this forum. In this case I can’t get very technical but I’ll do my best to answer them.
Let’s start with your first question.
Not FPBGA please,

Now I know why you are asking about Akitio.

The PCB you are featuring are Akitio/Inxtron Thunder3 boards.
Those boards are not certified by Intel for eGFX use and am I allowed to guess that you simply ripped the photos of it from some site and used it in your design?

Please prove me wrong.

We understand you guys why are so angry....
the eX Core is a revolutionary device that’ll practically kill the eGPU market little by little. And some of you live from that.
We understand.

You guys really look ridiculous and definitely put yourselves in an awkward position.
Really no need to be jumping around just because you haven’t get a simple answer.
The eX Core is really easy to understand.

Our Video Card is a 33.7w Card and down/w to 10w while in TB3.
The AC adapter helps the card bump up to 55w to get full clock= full performance = zero throttling.
Our card works by performance per watt so base in the scenario the card may stay at 1680mhz within the 10w. We are using super caps to sustain small amount of H-P while heavy loads under TB3. The caps will load back every time the game engine hits less. So the card will take advantage to reload extra performance.
Our TB3 board is 3.7w so the calculation is perfectly fine.

Expect OC and marketed performance while plugged Smile
and as any laptop, expect related Bus-peered TB3 Performance. Around 30% loss total while mobile. And 125% gain total while plugged, beatting the desktop version 😉

Our adapter on paper is 90w but in reality is 93.5w switchable.
So yes, there’s up to 60w Power delivery to charge your laptop.

So yes. The eX Core is truly mobile. Since the eX Core uses your laptops battery, Expect over 2:30h to 3h if gameplay while the eX Core is plugged your Laptop.
Anytime you run out of battery you can always plug the included AC adapter, this will fulfill full 33.7w eX Core Performance plus 60w charge your laptop.
Many Ultrabook batteries aren’t more than 40w or 50w.
So the calculation is right.
Our bios will take care of the rest.
the eX Core will achieve its 55w giving the case that your laptop it’s plugged to its power adapter and the eX Core as well Smile

we do have a patent pending over the eX Core strocture, design and tooling.
Behind the patent is one of the best patent lawyers in the world.
Mister Robert Brouillette.
has invested over 40 companies, and owns several ones.
So wouldn’t be any problem for the patent house to aprove it.

Now, please guys. You really look very bad and have cause many damages.
Your ignorance is over the limits.
We are going liveTV soon in a famous TV channels, Shows, and Fox News.
We do have to mentions what you have done to regain the trust of the people you induced.

the reputation of this website and Mantiz is critical...
we want to keep a good and diplomatic relation with you so it’s better we star all over agin Smile

In advance we apologize for our English. We are French Canadian.

we still don’t understand why you haven’t email us or contact us to ask this questions.  Is too obvious

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

It is ignorance to think that a GTX 1050 eGPU will "practically kill the eGPU market", regardless of its revolutionary-ness.

Canadian here and one who learned french here. These guys broken english doesnt even sound right. I even doubt that they are Québécois. The fact that they think you can mine bitcoin on a graphics card anymore is very disturbing. This is 100% a scam imo. They are probably even counting on people calling them out so they can use that as a reason to 'fail' and thus not deliver. I wonder what the fraud laws are in Quebec. Perhaps I can report to RCMP somehow.
