Hi everyone,

Bit of customer experience for those in EU like me who would like to order it.

I ordered mine on Amazon US on September 9 and never received it...

Long story short (after contacting multiple times each party):

  • DHL never got the package, it never went out of Amazon's warehouse
    • -> Tells me to contact seller
  • Mantiz (through Amazon marketplace) can't do anything, Amazon tells them it was shipped
    • -> Tells me to cancel my order and ask for refund (which is not possible as of yet)
  • Amazon is sad Mantiz can't help me (yeah extra helpfull)...
    • -> Tells me to contact seller again
    • -> or wait a few days after max estimated delivery date to ask for a refund (which is not before middle of next week)
    • -> and ask me to leave a (bad) review on Mantiz's marketplace profile in the process

In the mean time, the black version -which I want- is now sold out on both Amazon and Mantiz store... So even if I finally get my refund after 1 month, I can't even re-order it...

I've been quite exited for the Saturn since the unboxing in June and I've been waiting patiently with a buggy TB3 hub since then, all for that. It's really a huge bummer.

Deeply sorry for the inconvenience .

But allow us to explain here to everyone. We rely on Amazon FBA service. ( Fulfill by Amazon ) it means all orders /delivery are automatically operated and processed by Amazon fulfillment center. We ever asked Amazon to to watch this case, as I ever copied the full Amazon service reply mail to you. You will not lose any money if you don’t receive the item. Amazon is a highly trusted platform, if you claim item was not received, you’ll get full refund after they checked.

Yes I know at some point in the next days/weeks I should get a refund...

In the meantime do you know when the black Saturn will be back in stock either on Amazon or Mantis's site?

It's a real bummer all customers in EU have to go through all of this hassle to get the product, I think you guys at Mantiz should just consider having the Saturn shipped to Amazon EU; I bet there would be plenty of customers interested in buying it (myself included).

What are the options to buy this enclosure in EU besides the Mantiz website and paying the hefty shipping fee?

There's basically no options. Fact is, the $299 base price is added up another $30 plus $80 shipping, and that doesn't include import VAT and customs duties to your country...

It's still in the ballpark price of a Razer Core X Chroma, but what about warranty or return policy for a DOA item? I'd rather deal with a local reseller than have to go through intercontinental shipping if any issue arises and have downtime and overall frustration with it...

@itsage, I have a question regarding the amount of pcie lanes supported by the host laptop. I have a dell xps 13 9360 which has a TB3 port with 2x pcie lanes, would this be enough to use the saturn pro - gpu, charging, ssd, ethernet and all - or could this cause throttling?

I hope I used all the technical jargon right, I'm new to the world of eGPU's 🙂

All functionalities of the Mantiz Saturn Pro would work with your XPS 13 9360. There's a limited bandwidth on the x2 PCIe connection through the laptop's Thunderbolt 3 port. It's best to use an external monitor so that the bandwidth loss is minimized.

Bummer.

@Mymantiz_John any plans to sell trough an EU warehouse?
