VisionTek Mini eGFX Manual with board LED description?
Thank you for this forum, it has really helped.
I just bought and installed a VisionTek eGPU, it took ages to chose as availability in the UAE is pretty non existent and I had to find the right one from a retailer that would ship it.
I believe the research paid off as it is exactly what my small desk and Dell XPS 13 needed.
Now back to the question ... it is all working fine but there are at least 7 maybe 9 LEDs on the board (some green and some orange), and I wanted to know what they meant.
I bought an open box item and there is no manual or any other documentation on the site than I can see, if you have a link or a copy can you please share it?
@nick_rome, They are complimentary RGB!
Kidding aside they are status lights. There's no manual that I'm aware of.
I was hoping they were documented somewhere.
Anyway no probs so far. I have to say a few of the videos and reviews really complained about the internal cooling fan, and I find it quite acceptable actually, I have the box on the side of the small desk and I love the single cable docking option with the Dell XPS.
Hopefully it will continue to work for a long time!
...I edited this message so not to send a new one... is my understanding right that if I buy a MacBook Pro 13, 1.4Ghz 2TB3 ports version, the VIsionTek box should work in Bootcamp without any special setup? While some work may be required with the one you have (new 10th Gen).
I've been using this very same enclosure with an RX 580 ITX at work for nearly a year. It works great carrying Ethernet, USB to mouse & keyboard on top of the eGPU that powers three external monitors. I unplugged the case fan and it's not an issue for me with cooling.
