After four years of service I upgraded my Mantiz Venus to a Saturn Pro 2. Very much worth it. But the Venus still works. One of the things I had been kicking around in my head is using an external PCI-E case for the card for a VIVE wireless adapter. I can't think of a reason it wouldn't work but I'm curious if anyone here has experience with this. Here's my rig:

2019 13" MBP w/ touchbar

Mantiz Saturn Pro 2

Sapphire Vega 64

Vive Cosmos Elite

macOS 11

Windows 10 20H2 (using hackflags)

To enable the wireless Vive I'd be plugging in the old Venus with the wireless card to a second TB3 port on the MBP. Thanks all!

@mzeb, Installing the PCIe card into the Mantiz Venus should be straight-forward. The unknown as always is how Windows will handle another PCIe component while allowing the Radeon Vega 64 eGPU to work. I would say to hot-plug the Vive PCIe card + Mantiz Venus while the eGPU is working. You can try disabling some PCIe components that you don't use ahead of time.

@itsage, Yep, was figuring the hardware would be easy and the software the hard part. It's been a few years since I've tread new ground on this forum so it seems like it's about time. 😀

@mzeb, It's a process of trial and error with many things eGPU-related unfortunately. Do let us know how it works for you.
