Weird high-pitched electrical noise coming off eGPU when on "Best perfomance" energy setting
I got a XPS 9305 for a good bargain, as my recent Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 is having a lot of little problems. I really enjoy the Dell experience and also how much better the i7-1165G7 with higher TDP performs. However there is one thing, that is again odd to me:
Whenever I am connected to the eGPU and am in the "Better / Best Performance" energy setting my eGPU (Aorus Gaming Box RX580 but with a RX5500XT) is making weird noise: A high pitched chirping and tweeting. It happens whenever I do something on-screen. Like scrolling website or just moving the cursor.
If it is set to efficient power setting, it does not make this noise. If I only use the second or internal screen, it changes to a lower pitch, but still hums along. Not as annoying though.
This has not happened with the other laptop, which nearly has the same hardware ... Is it the eGPUs internal PSU?
