Im looking to buy the "PowerColor Mini Pro 240FU eGFX Thunderbolt 3 Enclosure with RX 570 8GB".

My laptop is a zbook x2 g4 that uses a 90w charger. Im very fond of a single cable solution. Will it be enough to charge the laptop enough to leave it at 100% when i leave again? Im mostly using it connected to AC, so it doesnt really matter if it charges slow, as long as it can keep up with the laptop in use.

It should keep your ZBook x2 G4 charged. As long as the work load doesn’t consume more than 45W for an extended period of time, I don’t think there’s a concern. I’m currently using the same eGFX at work with a 2019 13″ MacBook Pro (61W charging) and the laptop has not lost charge in two weeks.

Okay thanks for the answer. I'll try one out then. I hope that not using the dGPU in the laptop also will lower the rated power intake.

The i7-8650U will thermal throttle itself to 45W , it can burst to a lot more very briefly but it's limited there. Also you need to run pedal-to-the-metal tasks to even reach that much. Not sure whether you use the internal display or not, that's another quite a big power consumer. M.2 is small. So on the long run your laptop won't consume more than 45W thus it will charge.

Okay good to hear. I will probably be using an external output most of the time. But before i get my new monitor i will probably use it with the built in screen, hope that will also work out.
